Subject: i think i found something

Damn these met 2 sceret worlds are cool! I've been fiddling around with them all yesterday afternoon and i couldn't imagine trying to map these things - they almost defy logic! But anyway, yesterday i was trying to find a way to get the end part of the game without fighting the queen metroid. I started by going to the place in the queen's lair where you have to spring ball up. you know, the part where you can see the metroid egg but can't reach it yet? well, i tried select tricking there, hoping to open up a hole in the ceiling so i could jump up to the egg, but it didn't work. I got sick of trying that and i moved onward, to the last vertical shaft before the queen metroid.

Once there, i started falling at about the midpoint of the shaft and started select tricking, weaving between the ledges as i fell. After a few tries i opened up a hole in the bottom of the screen, so i fell down it...

I landed in a wierd room which was basically empty except for some gltichy walls on all four sides. There was a hole in the ceiling though, so i tried going back up. i space jumped up there and to my surprise i WASN'T in the vertcal shaft i had just been in, it was a repeat of the same glitchy room. I space jumped up for several more screens, and it was still the same glitchy room. Where did the vertical shaft go? Anyway, finally i space jumped up there one more time, and i eneded up in a SHADOW of the vertical shaft. It's very easy to get stuck if you fall back down again, (which i did get stuck! and i had to go back there and try the whole thing over) so the second time when i arrived in the shadow room, i tried going right. In this next room, there were vertical columns 
jutting from the "ceiling and floor". I had to do a combination of spring balling and spider ball to make my way to the right. At the end of the room, and in many places along the way, there are little needles that hurt you if you touch them. I think the room is a shadow of the last horizontal shaft before the queen, but i'm not sure. After that it was a dead end, but it looked like th place where you have to fall down to go to the queen. I think i tried to go back and explore the glitchy rooms, but then i got stuck again, threw the controller across the room (at the pillow - i wasn't THAT mad) and stopped exploring for the day.

I haven't tried select tricking AGAIN in the gltichy rooms to possibly open up a hole in one of them. That might be something i try this afternoon.

btw, what's with the infinite loops in World 1? I was in the place in World 1 where there's all those places to save your game. I went all the way to the right of that big room. On the right side there's a wall made of big dots, and you can go down and there's a hole. i went down that, and then... i think i fell a few screens? don't remember. anyway i kept falling, and then i fell 
through the floor of some other room, and i ended up in the ice beam room in the queen's area. huh? If you follow the complete progression, i entered World one at the bottom of the queen's area, fell for several screens, went left, went up a screen to the Save Area, went right, went down a bunch more screens, and ended up ABOVE the World 1 entrypoint? I went DOWN to go UP! that's kooky man.
