Subject: The End of the Game... but it's not! Date: 2-25-00 Did you know that you can be in the end of the game without killing the Queen? It's cool, but, heh, in a way it's useless. Nonetheless, it's cool :) Through reading the directions of how to enter SW1 and getting to the save points, save your game there. Of course, this area is all scrambled up, because it is a shadow of the end of the game (on the planet's surface). All of that junk that is just laying around all over the screen is, in the normal game, assorted background tiles... And the checkered part above is actually the atmosphere of SR-388. To the bottom right of this area, you'll find Samus' ship. (http://m2sw.zophar.net/shadship.gif) It is Samus' space ship Only that is not her space ship This is a stone ship ...That was a Haiku hehe :) Anyway, her ship is there, and you can see the missle battery in the center, which would normally end the game when you touched it. But in this case, it does nothing. You can drop below the ship to explore another large part of the Secret World, but that won't be covered in this letter. When you go to the lower left part of this area, you'll find a large hole in the ground. This is the hole down to the Queen's lair. Fourtunately, it's not full of those little diamonds- its clear. While going down it, be careful where you land, because the floor turns into a one way trap which you can fall through, but not jump back up and out of. (If you get stuck, then you'll see why I suggested saving the game directly above!) A good solution to getting around the bad floors is to use the Spider Ball. As long as you are in that form, you cannot fall through the floor. As you go through, you'll eventually reach the Baby Metroid's egg... or a scrambled one. When it hatches, you'll get a scrambled up Baby Metroid following you around. Proceed on to the Queen's room, and the screen will fade out and back in, loading the correct set of tiles and therefore taking you out of the secret world (as explained in the shadowing section). This is how the room looks after you've killed the queen, meaning that the only real way out is to go back into the cavern from which you just came. With the correct tiles loaded, the passage is returned to normal along with the baby Metroid. When you go back to the ship and land inside it, don't expect anything to happen! Since the queen isn't dead, the game won't end! But, you are in the end of the game none the less! Now the only thing left to do is reset the game. Wasn't that useless? It was still cool though, don't you think? -Jesse D
