Updates 2000 Updates 2001

February 21, 2004

-I was notified by a few people that the Destroyable Walls patch would not work, so here is the reason. The ROM file to be patched should be named METROID2.GB, and this is case sensitive. It should also be in the same directory as the patching utility. I added this note to the readme file as well.

-Zero Mission is reviewed. I wanted to wait until I experienced the entire game (100% item collection) before posting it.
Made yet another update to the Destroyable Walls patch... It seems that it was not previously possible to destroy walls with bombs, only with the beam shot. That means that if you're stuck in a wall as a ball, you're S.O.L. Problem solved.
The enemies section was slightly updated too, with a small Planet Zebeth reference. See if you can find it.
(On a side note, any recent suggestions for SW enemies were lost when my email program decided to crap out, so if they don't show up, they might need to be resubmitted. Sorry...)

-More progress and information on M2Edit. Also added a few more Secret World Enemies... n' stuff.

January 15, 2004

-The Destroyable Walls patch (found to the right) has been modified so that now enemies exist, thus making the game fully playable and beatable. T'sall for now.

-I'll start this off by describing a new utility under construction by Texel known as M2Edit. This is a ROM editor for Metroid 2 which allows you to change, modify or even replace rooms and tiles in the game. It will allow you to edit tiles using a pixel editor, and before this is all over, completely rebuild the game's map. You can find the info in the column to the right.

The second notable thing I'd like to mention is a new little Metroid 2 patch that allows you to destroy any of the walls in the game with a standard beam shot. Not only will this save a lot of time and effort by eliminating need for the Start/Select trick, but will allow you to escape from being stuck in walls. This is just a taste of what's to come in M2Edit! Again, you can find information to the right.

I'm in the gradual process of overhauling and refining this webpage, so bear with the slow changes. Check back soon.

-I'm back! I finally regained FTP access to this page that was lost for almost 2 years. I'm just posting this note to let people know that the M2SW is not dead, nor will it be for some time to come. I have plans to go through and make-over most of the page and include some new sections (you'll see listed on the right) plus a few other new things. You'll find out when they arrive.

Anyway, the email is fixed again, so anybody who sent me an email during the last 2 years might need to send it again... Sorry about that. Check back soon!
